These photos were taken Sunday afternoon at Hermosa Brewing Company’s new brewery and tasting room in Torrance’s Beermuda Triangle, where they celebrated their five year anniversary. The family and dog friendly event featured 14 beers on tap, including their anniversary brew, Suburban Foam, a collaboration done with The Descendents, a punk rock band from the late 70s and 80s that was based out of Manhattan Beach.
The celebration also included food from Beach City Tacos, and the mellow tunes of guitarist Chris Shaw, followed by the rocking surf music of the Royal Rats. While I didn’t get food since that was already taken care of, the nachos looked amazing; and the Royal Rats caused me to hang out 30 minutes longer than planned. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday at Los Angeles Ale Works, in Hawthorne, where they celebrated their 6ish anniversary. The family and dog friendly event featured DJs, food, live music, a balloon artist, and an anniversary beer.
While I was there, music was provided by DJ Hash Mills and two tribute bands; The Walrus, a Beatles tribute band, and The Burning Doors, a Doors tribute band. Food was available from The Shrimp and Taco Stop, Proudly Serving LA, Cali Crizp, and La Chica Cupcakes. The Ballusionist provided balloon art for the youngsters and the young at heart. These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at Brouwerij West, in San Pedro, where they celebrated their seventh anniversary. The event featured a morning brunch, food trucks, live music, a DJ, a beer release and games. I probably missed something, but I was only there for a couple of hours, and while the event started at 10:00 AM, it lasted late into the night.
I got there around 2:00 which means I arrived well after the brunch was completed, but I was able to chat with a couple attendees that were still hanging out. Pancakes and stouts made up the primary part of the menu, which sounds like a pretty good way to start the day. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday evening at the Scholb Premium Ales brewery and tasting room, in Torrance, where Scholb celebrated their seventh anniversary with a very nicely attended celebration.
The free to attend event featured food from Buddha Boy Tacos, live music by The Brian Sisson Band, a bouncy house for the kids, free pie, and two new beer releases. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at Burnin’ Daylight Brewing Company in Lomita, where the brewpub celebrated their fourth anniversary. The free-to-attend event featured 15 of their beers on tap, including their Burn Four Anniversary IPA, kitchen specials and live music by Vibe Tribe.
I have to admit, as I was uploading these photos to my hard drive, I could not figure out how I had somehow missed attending their second and third anniversary, then I remembered; COVID. I am guessing lockdowns prevented the second anniversary, and I know someone incorrectly advised me that nothing was scheduled last year. No matter, I made it yesterday and was immediately reminded of how much fun Burnin’ Daylight events are. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday, November 5, at Upshift Brewing Company and Surfridge Brewing Company, both of which are located in El Segundo and coincidentally, were both celebrating their third anniversaries. Both events featured food trucks and live music.
I started my day off at Upshift Brewing, for no particular reason (at the time) other than it was the only anniversary party I knew was happening. They had a ticketed VIP hour, but I showed up after that. There were a couple dozen people there when I arrived, but it did not take long for the inside and outside seating to begin filling up. These photos were taken Sunday in Lawndale at Far Field Beer Company where several hundred fans came to help Far Field celebrate one year as Lawndale’s first and only craft brewery. Attendees were treated to live music, plenty of food offerings, five new beer releases, games, and vendors offering everything from butterflies to rocks.
If I had to summarize Sunday’s event in one word, it would be “wow!” I have visited Far Field a few times in the past year, but it has pretty much been limited to getting there within the last hour or so of their business day, so I cannot say that I had a grasp on how popular they have gotten in the past year. After attending Sunday’s event, there is no question that the Lawndale locals have definitely learned to appreciate what Far Field is doing. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at Absolution Brewing Company, in Torrance, where they held a party to celebrate their 8th anniversary. The celebration included an anniversary beer release, food, live music, and games.
In addition to their standard tap list, their anniversary beer, 1/8th Anniversary IPA was available on tap as well as cans. Food was available from SouthBay Comfortz (formerly known as Smokin’ Sandos) and Chiky Pancakes. Live music was provided by Nasty Bad Habit, and Taylor Killam Music. For the athletically inclined, cornhole and table shuffleboard were also available. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at El Segundo Brewing Company, in El Segundo, where they celebrated their 11th anniversary. The day featured an anniversary beer, a couple can releases, and the Something Good LA food truck. Coincidentally, it was also the ninth anniversary of the launch of CraftBeerGuy.com.
It was a pretty hot day at the beach, and the throngs that came to help celebrate El Segundo Brewing’s milestone took full advantage of any shady spot they could find. Continue reading
These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at Smog City Brewing Company’s brewery and tasting room in Torrance, where several hundred fans gathered to celebrate Smog City’s 11th anniversary. The event featured food trucks, live music, a dunk tank for charity, a mini market, games, and beer; lots of delicious Smog City beer.
While I was there, seafood was available from Anarchy Seafood, with burgers from Heavy Handed LA; after I left Baserriko Peppers came onboard with their sandwiches and churrasco.
There was live music provided by Fuzzy Logic, and a beer garden market village was set up featuring Macetas Plants LA, Gogoma Bakes Dog Treats, D’s Cookies, and local illustrator Evan Clark. Continue reading
