The 7th Annual South Bay Tap Takeover is two days away, and as hard as it may be for me to believe, this may be the first time that I am not going to be rushing around trying to fill taps with less than 24 hours to go; knock on wood.
Just in case this is the first you have heard about my event, shame on me, but this is what you need to know.
The tap takeover is returning to Tortilla Cantina in Old Torrance, from noon until 10:00 PM. Tortilla Cantina is located at 1225 El Prado, in Torrance. Parking is always free in Torrance and there is a large parking structure just south of Tortilla Cantina.
There is no cover charge; you just pay for your food and/or craft beer. They have Happy Hour prices from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
Any beer available on tap is also available to-go as they will set you up with a 16oz crowler for $6.00 each.
This is the largest takeover yet, with 28 breweries participating, including:
Absolution Brewing, El Segundo Brewing, King Harbor Brewing, Phantom Carriage, Smog City Brewing, Strand Brewing, The Dudes’ Brewing, Three Weavers, Brouwerij West, Honest Abe Hard Ciders, HopSaint, Scholb Premium Ales, SoCal Cider, LA Ale Works, Yorkshire Square, Common Space, Hermosa Brewing Company, Red Car Brewery, Burnin’ Daylight, Project Barley, Tortugo Brewing, Buzzrock Brewing, George Lopez Brewing, Surfridge Brewing, Upshift Brewing, Eureka Brewing, The Crac Brewery and Grub, and Far Field Beer.
They will have live music on the patio from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, it is my understanding they play 80’s style music.
Sadly, the commemorative glassware failed to arrive and would not arrive until more than a week later, so maybe next year.
This should be another fun event. The tap list is shaping into a thing of beauty; I hope you can join us Thursday, September 2. Cheers!
