These photos were taken Saturday afternoon during the first session of the 2017 Great American Beer Festival, which was presented by the Brewers Association.
After the awards ceremony everyone headed upstairs for the first session of day three, which would have two sessions.
While I was admittedly overwhelmed on day one, this time I was on a mission, so once I figured out what part of the country I needed to be in, it was really pretty easy. I guess the lesson learned was that you need to go at least twice to find your groove.
One of the first missions I had was to head over to the Pro-Am Competition Booth so I could check out the entry by Fall River Brewing Co. and my friends Keith & April Ramos-Eckert; Quadrafiend, a Belgian Quad. It was pretty darn good.
After checking out a few Pro-Am entries I went around and visited some of the winners, like my good friends at HopSaint and Three Weavers, as well as some I have only met on road trips, like Burn Em’ Brewing. There was definitely a fun atmosphere and big smiles as brewers displayed their new hardware. Congratulations to all the participants.
In closing, I would just like to thank the Brewers Association for the opportunity to cover GABF, all the sponsors for making it economically feasible to hold the event, all the brewers for your great beer, and to all the volunteers for a job well done. Cheers!
