These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at Common Space Brewery in Hawthorne, where they celebrated their third anniversary with an actual in-person event at the production brewery’s tasting room and patios setup outside.
Prior to today, the last time I attended a brewery’s anniversary was the Brouwerij West 4th anniversary in February 2020; that’s a long time considering how many brewery anniversary parties we have around here usually.
Yes, COVID protocol definitely changed how things are done, but Common Space had it under control with some limited indoor seating and two patio areas. Food was available from Belly’s Sliders & Wings, but I am not sure whether a food purchase was required or not (when I am solo I don’t take up a table).
What I do know is that it was a beautiful day in the neighborhood and everyone seemed very comfortable maintaining their social distancing and wearing their masks.
To celebrate their third year, Common Space released two bottled brews; Black Cake, a barrel-aged stout done in collaboration with Bottle Logic Brewing and, Woodland Creature, an Oak Aged Mixed Culture Sour Ale.
Common Space Brewery is located at 3411 W. El Segundo Boulevard in Hawthorne. Their hours are 3:00-9:00 PM Wednesday and Thursday, noon to 10:00 PM Friday and Saturday, and noon to 9:00 PM on Sunday. Congratulations to the entire Common Space team; the last year was not easy, but you made it. Cheers!
