A Visit to Brewery X and Bottle Logic

These photos were taken Friday afternoon in Anaheim, where I met a couple friends for visits to Brewery X and Bottle Logic Brewing. This was my first visit to Brewery X, and the first time in almost 10 years that I had visited Bottle Logic.

I was joined by my friends Jay and his bride, Diana, who I have been friends with long before I became The Craft Beer Guy. In fact, I consider Jay one of my success stories in that when we first met, he was all about Coors Light; now he visits breweries on a regular basis and I even spotted them at a craft beer festival a few years ago. Jay and I have been talking about meeting up for a while now; we finally made that happen on Friday. Naturally, I brought Roxy with me.

BREWERY X

So yeah, this was my first visit to Brewery X, and if you have never been, be advised, the place is huge; inside and out. Sadly, I was not able to visit the brewhouse due to ongoing construction, but with the amount of beer and seltzers they produce, and the pure size of the building, I know it is probably a thing of beauty. Hopefully I will be able to return and get a tour inside the belly of the beast.

While there is no question that the brewing facility is massive, the tasting room was described as cavernous by Jay; there is no doubt that Brewery X is set up to welcome throngs. They have tons of seating, inside and out.

Outside, they have some permanent food trucks on location; one that specializes in pizza, another for burgers, and a third that seemed to specialize in salads and healthier options. Jay and Diana scored some pizza, chicken wings and fried pickles. They seemed pleased with their choices.

As far as beer is concerned, I had Slap & Tickle, followed by Something Stupid. I am pretty sure I saw Roulette and a cider among the options picked by Jay and Diana. There were no complaints.

Brewery X is located at 3191 East La Palma, in Anaheim. They are open daily from 11:00 AM until midnight. They are dog and family friendly, and have numerous to-go options for both their beer and seltzers.

After finishing up at Brewery X, we took a half mile walk down the street to Bottle Logic Brewing.

BOTTLE LOGIC BREWING

I have to admit, before sitting down to write this I had to research when exactly was the last time I had visited; was it before I opened CraftBeerGuy.com? Well, it turns out I first visited Bottle Logic in August of 2014; they were just six months old at the time. All I can say is that looking at my old photos, there has been a lot of growth, and I do mean a lot.

When I zoom in on old photos I can see they had maybe six (give or take) fermentation vessels; Friday I saw that they had at least 24 of them, all of which appeared to be 30bbl.

After a very quick tour of the brewhouse, the three of us continued around the building to the taproom entrance.

The first thing I noticed was that they now had a food truck, which wasn’t that big a deal 10 years ago as I recall. They also had a nice outdoor patio, which we took advantage of because it was such a nice day.

We were going to be a one and done as far as beers were concerned, because time was flying by and Friday afternoon traffic was going to start soon. Diana and I got their Recursion IPA with Jay opting for She Shot First. I sent them home with a 4-pak of their Thermal Intake DIPA, and yeah, I got one also.

Bottle Logic Brewing is located at 1072 N. Armando, in Anaheim. They open at noon daily, and close at 10:00 PM Sunday through Thursday, and are open until midnight on Friday and Saturday. They have 4-paks, and crowlers to-go, and are dog friendly. Cheers!
