These photos were taken Saturday afternoon at Common Space Brewery in Hawthorne, where they celebrated their fifth anniversary. The event featured food trucks, live music, DJs, tarot card readings, a caricature artist, live mural painting, and an anniversary beer to accompany the 20+ beers and seltzers that were available on tap.
I arrived around 1:00 and things were already popping with at least 100 Common Space fans, a few kids, and lots of dogs (which made my day).
Food was available from West Sliders, Ahh Huevo, Scoops on Tap, and what seemed to be a crowd favorite, Stellar Pizza. Live music, while I was there, was provided by LA Synth Club and Funkelberry.
It was a lovely day, and Common Space seems to have figured out how to handle the wind because while there was a cool breeze out in the streets, their patio area was quite pleasant.
I spent a few hours there and the crowd never seemed to diminish; if anything, the crowd only seemed to grow as the day went on. The brewery staff kept the lines short and the beer flowing. I don’t think I ever spent more than a couple minutes in a line for beer.
Congratulations to Brent, Ryan, Kush, Andy and the entire Common Space crew for not only surviving, but thriving the past five years, and for putting on a fun anniversary celebration. Cheers!
