Cellador Ales Celebrates 7 Years

These photos were taken Saturday afternoon, December 16 at Cellador Ales, a blendery in Torrance, where they celebrated seven years of blending sour ales. The event featured $5.00 pours, new beer releases, snacks and cake.

To say that Cellador Ales has had a tough row to hoe is definitely an understatement. Yeah, everyone has had a tough three years due to the global pandemic, but Cellador has had to tackle a couple extra hurdles.

Last June, Kevin and Sara Osborne announced that their brewery/blendery and taproom in North Hills would close at the end of 2022. According to Kevin’s announcement, it was a combination of Covid related “financial issues, lease issues, personal life changes, and more.”

At the beginning of 2023, Cellador Ales moved their blendery location to Smog City Brewing’s Wood Cellar, and Cellador’s sales manager, Alex Ourieff, became the man in charge. Considering how different blending beers is compared to brewing beers, he is doing a fine job.

While I was there, the event was attended by a couple dozen friendly customers, and their even friendlier pups and kids. While they may not have had a huge turnout, the people that were in attendance were friendly and seemed to be having a nice time. The dogs and kids definitely lightened things up.

Cellador Ales is located at 1879 Del Amo Boulevard. They do not currently have a tasting room to call their own, but they are open Monday through Friday until 4:00 PM to pick up bottles that are available for purchase online.

Congratulations to the entire Cellador Ales staff, we look forward to seeing what the future brings. Cheers!
