Trick or Treat: Craft Beer Please

Timeless Pints Flights

Come to the Timeless Pints 1st Annual Halloween Party

As the Oktoberfest season winds down and we still wait for fall weather in the Southland there are still some excuses to go out for a craft beer, if you need an excuse. Since Halloween falls on a Friday this year (as every Halloween should) there are plenty of Halloween parties going on where you can dress up and enjoy some of your favorite brews, sans eye of newt.

One such event will be held at Timeless Pints, a microbrewery in Lakewood that recently celebrated their one year anniversary. The first ever Timeless Pints Halloween Party & Halloween Costume Contest will be held on Friday, October 31st from 2:00-8:00 PM. The winner of the Best Halloween costume will get a month of kickboxing classes at Sweat Shop Gym, four personal training sessions and a 60-minute massage from the Finely Kneaded Spa, in Lakewood. Second place winner will get a month of Boot Camp classes from Sweat Shop Gym and a t-shirt with the third place winner getting a free eight ounce pour of their Timeless Pints beer of choice.

If you are like me and can never come up with a costume idea; Timeless Pints offers a few ideas on their blog. Timeless Pints Brewing Company is located at 3671 Industry Avenue in Lakewood, California.

Strand Brewing brings March Madness to Naja’s Place

It is that time of year again for collegiate basketball fans; March Madness is upon us. Now I have to admit, I do not really have the time to follow basketball of any type so “March Madness” really has little bearing on my life but when I heard that Strand Brewing Company and Naja’s Place were teaming up for a March Madness tap-takeover it did not take much convincing to get me over to the International Boardwalk to attend their event.

Now, I guess “tap-takeover” might be a little exaggerated since Naja’s Place has 88 beers on tap, but Strand Brewing Company brought eight beers on tap; Musashi Black IPA, White Sand DIPA, 24th Street Pale Ale, Atticus IPA, Batch 100 Stout, Harvest Ball Orange Wheat, Beach House Amber Ale and Black Sand DIPA as well as their White Sand DIPA with Chinook hops on cask. There was a large contingency of Strand Brewing Company fans on hand that made short work of the cask, but there were plenty of other Strand Brewing Company beers for them to enjoy.

Strand Brewing Company is located at 23520 Telo Avenue in Torrance and Naja’s Place is located at 154 International Boardwalk in Redondo Beach. Cheers! Continue reading
