These photos were taken Saturday afternoon, May 6, at Syncopated Brewing Company in Lakewood, where they were celebrating day two of their three day celebration of their second year anniversary and the birthday of Jason Van Fleet, one of the co-founders of syncopated brewing. The day featured food, live music, games, and a beer release.
While I was there, food was provided by Big Brian’s Meats. Music was provided by assistant brewer Elic Evans and his wife Mel. As I was preparing to leave The Bodleys were setting up; I was tempted to hang out later, but I try to avoid traffic.
While this was my first visit to Syncopated, it was not my first visit to the location as 10 years ago it was Timeless Pints. To be honest, the place looked pretty much the same, with the main difference being instead of there only being nine brews on tap, there were 13, plus their special beer release.
Personally, I tried their Under the Neon Red Ale, Runaway Cattigator sour, Long Beach Shredders pale ale, and Alex Likes Cereal, a golden stout which was their special release beer. I think Under the Neon was my favorite, with Alex Likes Cereal being pretty interesting.
It was a nice afternoon with nice people and good beer; a pretty great Saturday afternoon. As this was my first visit to Syncopated Brewing, I should probably mention that they are located at 3671 Industry Avenue in Lakewood. They are open Tuesday through Sunday, are dog friendly and have some cans as well as crowlers and growlers available to-go.
Congratulations to Jason, Chris and all the staff on two years; it looks like you are on the right track. Cheers!
