These photos were taken Sunday afternoon at the HopSaint Brewing Company brewpub on 190th Street and at their new taproom, HopSaint at the Ditch, on Del Amo Boulevard where hundreds of the fans gathered to celebrate HopSaint’s 10th anniversary.
The event featured a special menu and live music at the brewpub, with a couple food popups making appearances at the taproom. If you are looking for specific photos, pages one through four were taken at the brewpub, with the balance being taken at The Ditch. Naturally, there was an anniversary beer released.
As evidenced by the photos, I started the day off at the HopSaint Brewpub. New benches had been assembled and placed in the parking lot to ensure that there was plenty of seating for everyone. At noon, the live music portion of the event started with Blue Shadows performing. I was speaking with one of the “crew” who informed me that the trio was actually made up of some well known artists that have been around for quite a while. While the musical genre is not really my thing, knowing owner Steve Roberts association with the blues, their names sounded vaguely familiar; the music was entertaining and attendees seemed to appreciate them.
If you attended HopSaint’s 7th Anniversary you may recall that they had a special food menu (tacos) to help ease the strain on the kitchen staff. This was repeated again Sunday with Brisket, Pulled Pork, Catfish, and Portabello Mushroom tacos being made available.
After a couple hours I headed home so I could hook up with my new favorite transportation, Connect Torrance, for a ride over to The Ditch. I have to admit, I was a little surprised by the turnout there. It was a very nice turnout, which included several dogs, which was icing on the cake for me.
They had two food popups at The Ditch, Grand Fish Tacos and Ceviche, and PiiZaa. I saw quite a few pizzas and tacos being delivered in the taproom so apparently they were both hits.
All-in-all Sunday was a pretty fun day. It was nice running into old friends (as in people that were friends before I launched CraftBeerGuy) and it was nice seeing the community join together to support HopSaint Brewing Company.
Congratulations to Steve, Brian, Aaron and Christina on 10 years of great food and beer, and to all the staff for putting on a fun event. Cheers!
